Listen with Pride - 3 Top Podcasts made by or with members of the  LGBTQ+ community

In celebration of Pride Month, lots of exciting things are happening.

Providing wonderful opportunities to celebrate, connect and deepen our understanding of each other. In this spirit, we are sharing these highly rated and engaging podcasts that delve deep into the stories of LGBQT+ individuals.

Here are three that caught our eye:

Informative

Pod Save the UK : This podcast offers a weekly fix of political news, big ideas and a shot of inspiration. Hosted by comedian Nish Kumar and journalist Coco Khan, they are joined by politicians, experts, and famous friends to unpick the latest news, look for solutions, and inspire action. We recommend listening to Episode 55: What do the Trans & Non-binary community need most right now? In this episode, Nish and Coco are joined by Abigail Thorn (actress, writer and host of PhilosophyTube) and Freddy McConnell (writer and journalist) to examine the issues facing the trans and non-binary community in the UK today. You can listen to the podcast on Spotify, Pocket Casts, Pandora, YouTube, Apple Music, and Apple Podcasts.

Fun

A Gay and NonGay is the UK’s #1 award-winning LGBTQ+ podcast hosted by comedians James Barr and Dan Hudson (James is Gay, Dan is NonGay. The podcast reluctantly began when James' friend Talia moved abroad, leaving him and her boyfriend to fend for themselves. This is the hilarious tale of two unlikely heroes forming new friendships, challenging our preconceptions of each other, and crossing divides. A blend of conversations around day-to-day life, differences in perceptions, homophobia, coming out, mental health and lighter topics like dating and Dan learning all about douching. “It's always been our mission to talk openly and promote equality, freedom and friendship whilst making our listeners laugh.”

Storytelling

AfroQueer

A podcast about Queer Africans Living, Loving, Surviving and Thriving on the African continent and in the Diaspora.

“AfroQueer is a podcast from AQ Studios telling the stories of Queer Africans from across the continent and diaspora.

Our podcast celebrates queer love and explores the laws affecting our lives, migration, media, race, class, censorship, family and sex (obviously). Along the way, we also share some bitter truths of what it means to be Queer and African, but also spotlight individuals shifting the landscape of African queerness.”
