Award-winning architectural practice Haworth Tompkins, based in Old Street, is currently looking for an Architect with Revit experience and strong design, detailing and communication skills, to work on a project in the theatre and culture sector.
Attributes
Minimum 2 years post Part III experience
Experience working on design-led medium and large-scale projects at all RIBA work stages. Experience working on Stage 4 essential
Theatre and culture design experience desirable but not essential
Strong Revit experience
Able to prepare detailed drawings and designs
Ability to manage design consultants and be confident in coordinating complex projects
Articulate verbal and written communication - confident presenting to colleagues and others outside of practice
Good understanding of current UK building regulations, technical standards and London housing design standards
Experience and understanding of sustainable design that exceeds building regs standards
As well as the above, successful candidates would preferably also meet the following criteria:
Be confident in independently managing others within their team
Awareness and appreciation of design and urban issues and the ability to discuss these and share your opinions
Passivhaus experience is beneficial, but not required
Additional Information
We use Autocad and Revit software packages to develop most of our projects (some legacy projects delivered in Microstation).
Further training can be provided but we require individuals who can become quickly established on projects. We work as a collaborative and proactive studio where communication and knowledge sharing is encouraged. Project work is supported by a programme of lunchtime talks, construction site visits and office trips.
