Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and New Trustees | Architectural Heritage Fund

We seek to appoint at least three new trustees, including a Chair of our Audit and Risk Committee, to join our Board. This is an exciting time to join the AHF, following a period of expansion over the last few years and as we head towards our 50th Anniversary in 2026.
Chair of Audit and Risk Committee
Led by the Audit & Risk Committee Chair, the Audit & Risk Committee is a board committee that works closely with the CEO and the Director of Finance to review the organisation's finances, control processes, and risk management and oversee the annual audit arrangements. The ARC Chair is responsible to the Board of Trustees.
The Audit & Risk Committee Chair will provide leadership to help ensure that the AHF’s external and internal audit functions are operating efficiently and effectively, to ensure that the risk management process adopted by the AHF enables the identification of key risks as well as the internal controls to mitigate these risks and that the AHF maintains adequate and effective financial controls and processes.
For this position, applicants should have relevant skills and experience for the role and be suitably financially qualified. The position is unremunerated, and the appointment would be for an initial 3-year term, with the opportunity for renewal (up to a maximum of two further terms). Trustee Roles
We are seeking at least two additional trustees in addition to a new Chair of Audit and Risk. We are looking for senior, experienced, or emerging leaders. As well as applicants well networked or knowledgeable in the built environment, heritage, or social enterprise sectors, we are seeking new trustees that have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Conservation and heritage/community-led regeneration
Architecture / built environment
Property development
Social investment / running a social enterprise and/or charity
Communications and PR
The positions are unremunerated, and the appointment would be for an initial 3-year term, with the opportunity for renewal (up to a maximum of two further terms).
